´California´, 10x10 cm

A small landscape filled with the warmth and light of California. Gentle hills, open space and a luminous sky come together in a semi-abstract composition of colour and atmosphere. Rather than depicting one particular place, the painting captures the feeling of California – sun-warmed, spacious and full of light.

The simplified shapes invite you to imagine your own landscape: perhaps a quiet road through the hills, a distant coastline or a peaceful afternoon beneath a wide Californian sky.

California II is particularly lovely together with California I and III. Displayed as a set of three, the paintings form a harmonious collection with a sense of journey and place. But this little original is equally charming on its own.

Mounted with its Velcro hanging system onto a mat board (passepartout) inside a frame, it becomes a delicate little piece of art that can fit beautifully even where there is only a small amount of space.
